SAV 9 Issues with Internet E-Mail Scanning and Encrypted SMTP Connections Using TLS or SSL Introduction The Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 9 (SAV 9) client program has a new feature called Internet E-mail Auto-Protect. This feature constantly scans the body text and attachment files associated with your e-mail messages to ensure that they do not contain viruses.
Users of SAV 9 report that they cannot send e-mail using the encrypted e-mail connection when SAV 9's Internet E-mail Auto-Protect feature is activated. When attempting to send the message they will see the error dialog from SAV as portrayed at right. Their e-mail client program may also report an error message, such as the one portrayed below in Eudora 6.1.
